Program Overview:
This event will feature a review of Wisconsin’s wetland and waterway regulatory program. Learn what activities are regulated and how the permitting process works. The update will also include a discussion on the basics of making navigability determinations, ordinary high water mark determinations, and identification of wetland indicators.

Participants will have the opportunity to observe and discuss these topics with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource Staff in the field along nearby Badfish Creek and its tributaries. We will evaluate the performance of streambank stabilization practices installed for a previous NASECA field event and also look at demonstrations of new streambank stabilization practices.

The event will also feature a demonstration of products approved for use under WDNR Technical Standard 1071 for Manufactured Perimeter Control and Slope Interruption along with a discussion of that standard. There will be an opportunity to observe and discuss the performance of Low-Impact development practices including rain gardens and a green roof as well as other new innovative products such as Prairie Sod.
